4th of July Events Guide

Celebrating America's birthday couldn't be better here in the sun. Almost near perfect when it comes to celebrating, South Floridians have several choices from the south to the more northern areas of Broward and peeking into the Palm Beaches. Below is our events guide highlighting the best places to spend the 4th. We hope you enjoy browsing, as we remember this very special day for all in America, The Beautiful.


Aventura

The City of Aventura will host a Fireworks show beginning at 9 pm. It is FREE and can be seen just East of the Aventura Mall or from the Mall site. Located at Country Club Dr. For more information call 305-466-8930.

Hollywood
Events are as follows at Hollywood Beach Theater at 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. DJ Music, 7:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Performance by 13th Army Band, Florida National Guard. Offshore fireworks display begins at 9:00 p.m.

Fort Lauderdale

Come to Fort Lauderdale Beach across from the Oasis Cafe and enjoy family activities @ 600 Seabreeze Blvd. Fireworks at 9 pm from a barge in the Ocean off A1A & Las Olas Blvd. 954-828-5368. FREE. Fortlauderdale.gov

Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

Annual Independence Day parade begins at 10:00 a.m. The parade will be along El Mar Drive between Pine and Hibiscus Avenues, starting on Bougainvillea Drive and ending at Hibiscus Avenue. Family activities near the town hall 11 a.m.-3 p.m., include face painting, a water slide, music, food, a clown and equipment demonstrations by the Volunteer Fire Department. Fireworks display will begin between 8:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., El Prado Park, 4500 El Mar Dr., Lauderdale-by-the-Sea; www.lauderdalebythesea-fl.gov.


Pembroke Pines

Bring your blankets and Lawn chairs and celebrate with rides, live entertainment and food trucks. No coolers, pets or fireworks permitted. 6-9 PM, FREE. Pines Recreation Center Festival Grounds at 7400 Pines Blvd. 954-435-6525.


Miramar

The celebration starts at 7 p.m., ending with a fireworks display at 9 p.m. Miramar Regional Park, 16801 Miramar Parkway. 954-602-3319.

Davie

The Independence Day Crafts & Fireworks Show, starting at 4 p.m. It is FREE admission. Enjoy Arts & crafts displays, live music, bounce houses, climbing wall, petting farm and so much more. No alcoholic beverages, guns or fireworks are permitted. Pine Island Park 3801 S. Pine Island Rd. Davie, Fl., Fireworks at 9 p.m.; www.davie-fl.gov. 954-797-1166 or Flamingo Gardens' Old-Fashioned Fourth will feature "old time" games including watermelon and pie-eating contest. Break out a 1950s outfit and dance to the oldies. It's a half-price day that offers carnival games and a chance to visit with bald eagles in the Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary. All the fun takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Flamingo Gardens, 3750 S. Flamingo Road, Davie. Admission is $12.95-$19.95. 954-473-2955, FlamingoGardens.org.


Vistaview Park

Vista View Park fireworks viewing (no fireworks are actually launched from the park) will take place at the highest manmade elevation in Broward County. Depending on weather conditions, one can see fireworks displays from Davie, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Plantation and Sunrise. Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood fireworks may even be seen. Most of these shows are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m., but you're welcome to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets and come early to get a good spot. The park opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. The entry fee is good for admission all day; present your receipt for re-entry. You are also invited to bring your own refreshments, although hard liquor and glass containers are not allowed. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. The park's playgrounds and shelters will be closed. Admission before 7:30 p.m. will be the park's regular holiday gate entrance fee of $1.50 per person (children 5 or younger free); price goes up to $2 per person after 7:30 p.m. Vista View Park, 4001 SW 142nd Ave., Davie. 954-357-8898.

Weston

The parade begins at 10:30 am at the corner of Town Center Blvd. and Three Village Road, continuing east on Three Village Road to Bonaventure Blvd. then heading south briefly to Bell Tower Lane. The parade will finish up at the heart of Main Street where families will gather for some fun! 954.389.4321.


Plantation

The parade begins at 9 am at the intersection of Broward Blvd and N.W. 46 Ave. heads west to 69th Ave. turns right on 4th St. ending at City Hall with an awards ceremony. Bring along a picnic dinner, lawn chairs or blanket and enjoy concert at Central Park @ 7 PM with Kid’s Zone. Fireworks at 9 PM. Personal fireworks, alcoholic beverages are not permitted. Sunrise

Movie-themed floats will wind their way west along Sunset Strip from NW 12th Street to City Park, where the celebration continues with a free Family Fun Day featuring food, rides and children’s entertainment from 9am - noon. 954.747.4600. Enjoy children’s rides, food and beverages and music followed by a fireworks display. 5:30 -9:30 p.m. BB&T Center, 1 Panther Pkwy., Sunrise; Free; www.thebbtcenter.com.

Tamarac

Tamarac invites your friends and family for a free outdoor concert featuring “JAM BAND”, kid’s area with inflatables, face painting, arts & crafts, games, and food trucks. Grab your lawn chairs and your camera and get a snapshot with Uncle Sam and Betsy Ross as they make an appearance during the event. The night’s not over until after the impressive and choreographed pyrotechnical firework display which kicks off promptly at 9pm. 

Please use shuttle from Tamarac City Hall (7525 NW 88th Ave) and Tamarac Community Center (8601 W. Commercial Blvd). Shuttle will run from 5:30pm to 8:15pm and following the fireworks. IT’S ALL FREE! Festivities will be held at Tamarac Sports Complex, 9901 NW 77 Street on Thursday, July 4th, 6 – 9:30 pm.


Coral Springs

Come to Mullins Park for your 4th celebration. Enjoy a DJ, Kid Zone, food and lots of entertainment. No pets or alcohol allowed.  FREE admission with a parking fee of $3, come and join the festivities and fireworks display from 6 p.m. -10 p.m. 10150 NW 29th Street, Coral Springs. 954-345-2200.

Pompano Beach
Beginning at 5 p.m., Featuring the music of Southern Blood, and Vinyl. Pompano Beach Fishing Pier area, 222 N. Pompano Beach Blvd., Pompano Beach. In case of rain, fireworks will be July 5 at 9 p.m. Visit pompanobeachfl.gov

Coconut Creek

Margate

Deerfield Beach
You can expect a variety of activities at the Fourth of July celebration in Deerfield Beach, including live entertainment, arts and crafts, and food vendors. All activities will be by the Main Beach Parking Lot, 149 SE 21st Ave.  lot. The event begins at 12 p.m. and will conclude with a fireworks display at 9 p.m. Free. Must pay to park.

Boca Raton

The City of Boca Raton with celebrate with fireworks, patriotic music and lots of food. Family Activities begin at 6:30 PM. Prohibited items: personal firewoks, alcoholic beverages, open fires and family pets. Its FREE @ deHoernle Park Spanish River Athletics Complex 1000 Spanish River Blvd. 561-393-7806. Free Trolley Service available from Boca Corporate Center OR Sunset Cove July 4th Celebration at Sunset Cove Amphitheater. 12551 Glades Rd., Boca Raton, FL 33498. The event features a live performance by Garden's Pops Orchestra, food and beverage concessions and ice cream trucks on site, and an exciting fireworks display to close out the night!   Following the concert is a musical fireworks display. The Kids Fun Zone will feature balloon makers, airbrush artists, jugglers, and more! Bring an empty stomach and enjoy local food truck fair! Gates open at 6:30 PM. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. Free admission!
