Elected officials approved design fees of approximately $105,000 for a passive park that will include 20 parking spaces and trails connecting to the trail west of Bell Parkland and the Six Acre Wood Park.
______________
Talks have been ongoing since March and ended with the selection of a firm to design the three-acre project that when complete is estimated to cost roughly $650,000.
The City may be eligible to receive a $35,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to put toward the project when guidelines are published in December providing for an application deadline of February 2020. If the city qualifies, the grant award will be available after January 2021.
Proposed passive park amenities include water fountains, open lawn, canopy trees, and sunny and shady trails.
