JOLT'S PLAY GROUND PRESENTS: THE LION KING EXPERIENCE!
This experience is designed for children ages 7-11 to have a creative arts experience unlike any other! This four week introduction to Jolt’s Play Ground will use ‘The Lion King’ to explore ALL aspects of theatrical production. Jolt’s Play Ground’s focus is not on performance, but on self discovery through thorough creative exploration and fully experiencing each moment of the artistic journey.
Since ‘The Lion King’ follows a young cubs’ journey through self discovery we feel this show, along with Jolt’s Play Ground’s unique practices, are the perfect combination for developing the mindful and artistic tools necessary for such invaluable exploration. This Experience is designed to teach the fundamentals of theatre and mindfulness. ‘Play Grounders’ will spend the first week of the Experience learning the many elements that go into a theatrical production via the great story of “The Lion King”. They will spend this week acting, designing, directing, collaborating and more. Mindfulness practices will be woven throughout each lesson enhancing and enriching their experience. The children will spend the remaining three weeks practicing mindfulness and deepening their understanding of the story, the characters and themselves all the while rehearsing for a performance of "The Lion King Kids". No previous theatre experience is required. This session is not about grooming the next Broadway star. It’s about collecting core tools that will benefit them throughout their lives as well as gaining an appreciation for the creative process while having fun along the way!
Our Experience ends on Saturday, August 3rd with a musical theatre performance of "The Lion King Kids" at 2 PM. The children will share their enriching experience with the community in an 840 seat theatre! A cast party/reception with family and friends will immediately follow the performance.
WHEN: July 8th - August 2nd. Monday-Friday 10 am - 4 pm. The final performance is on August 3rd at 2 pm.
WHERE: 'The Lion King Experience' will take place at Olympic Heights Performing Arts Theater located at 20101 Lyons Rd., Boca Raton, Florida 33434 (Early and Aftercare is not available for this session).
