Office Depot Foundation Summer Internship Program!

Interns Wanted!

Attention Middle and High School Students, Interns are wanted June 8th- August 12th Summer 2016. During the Office Depot Foundation Summer Internship program we will be volunteering at different local non-profits and exploring ways in which we can help make a difference, following the foundations mission to Listen, Learn and Care. We have a very exciting summer planned and hope you will join our Difference Maker team!
Some of our planned service events include:

  • Justin Bartlett- Help to rescue dogs and find them a good home by volunteering at one of their pet adoption days.
  • Gumbo Limbo-Care for the environment and conduct a beach clean-up and discover why it is so important to keep our beaches and planet clean with a tour at Gumbo Limbo nature center.
  • Youth Court- Listen to kids that are standing trial and act as jury and judges for your peers to help them learn how the court system works and why it is important to follow the laws.
  • Community Closet- In one morning we will help to clothe over 200 families that live below the poverty level with clothing for everyday life clothing for job interviews, to break the cycle of dependence.
  • Toastmasters- Get personal attention on how to speak publicly and speak with confidence. We will be going to Toastmasters twice a month and each intern will receive a Toastmasters Mentor for the duration of the program
  • Career Guidance- We will bring in speakers from various career fields to give a spectrum of potential careers and we will take personality tests specifically designed to help you discover your passion and what career would be a perfect fit for you.
  • Tomorrows Leadership- You will attend two interactive leadership classes held by leadership expert David Parker, teaching you what it takes to be successful future leader in the world.
  • Life Coaching- Every Friday you will receive life coaching by Whanadi Sobrevilla she is the Founder of the Affinity For Wellness Movement. She has designed a program just for you and will be teaching about having a positive mindset creating balance in different areas of your life and much more!
  • Team Building- We have brought Kate Teixeira to the program just to create a fun engaging summer for you! She will be conducting various team building exercises throughout the summer.
  • We will also be working with Tomorrow’s Rainbow, Virtual Relief, We Rock the Spectrum, and more!

At the end of the internship you will make a presentation to your parents and the Foundation Board of Directors. Reporters from local papers (and online media like Macaroni Kid) will cover a story about the program and all the places you have visited as well as the impact that giving back to others had on you.
